Testimonials

I wanted to reach out to you to tell you how extremely happy we are with the addition of our Marine Power Automatic Salon Door Opener. As most Charter Boats who fish out of Ocean City MD know, you fish every day you can “in” season, up to 75 days a summer. In Ocean City, it’s almost never calm, just varying levels of roughness. Our 54’ Sportfishing Vessel, the Taylor Made Custom Carolina, the “No Quarter” was built with a center salon door. We struggled for years at trying to keep the door from slamming in rough seas. We nicknamed the door, the “Widow Maker” as we had at least four situations that customers and/or crew members had to visit the ER because of injuries sustained from trying to stop the door from slamming when encountering a large wave. Even my Captain, Kyle Peet was injured as well.

In 2018, we explored numerous options to try and minimize the risk associated with the door injuring people. After being referred by John Floyd from F&S Yachts, we felt the best option was to have a Power Opener installed by Marine Power Door, based in Delaware. We contacted Jay and had him install one of his Automatic Door Openers. The door works flawlessly, with the push of a button. No worries about it slamming or not being shut or latched properly.

I would highly recommend that anyone with a Sportfish Rig consider having an automatic opener installed. The industry go to guy is Jay from Marine Power Door.

We struggled for years with our door on our Viking. It would constantly open in seas and work only when it wanted too. Jay installed our new Marine Power Door and we haven’t had a single problem since. We always seem to end up fishing in the worst weather possible and our new door hasn’t budged once. We are currently building a new boat and it is the only door that will ever be on any of my boats.

Thanks again from us on the Bad Habit, 60’ Hatteras. It’s great being able to go offshore and not worry about the safety of the crew going in and out of our pocket door, risking someone’s arm or leg getting slammed in the door. It really gives us peace of mind having a Marine Power Door.

I have had the pleasure of running several vessels equipped with Marine Power Doors as well as doing in-field installs. This product is a prime example of care, innovation, and pride brought to the market by a man that lives and works with all three of these fine traits. Jay Beers applied his innovation and care and pride to give the marine industry a great well-made product that he stands behind.

I have been fortunate enough to have run a few boats with Marine Power Doors along with some other boats with a different type of push button door system, and plenty that are the good old fashion sliding or swinging salon doors. From my experience, nothing compares to the Marine Power Door. I have never had a single problem with the Marine Power Door system on any of the three boats I have run that had them, and we certainly put them to the test. Running charters year-round in numerous locations, quite a few that are liveaboards with 5-8 people on board for a week or two at a time, the Marine Power Door certainly got a workout and never failed once. I certainly can’t say that about any other door system I have come across out there. In addition to just being plain simple to use, it is also an added safety feature when you are out on the water and the boat is rocking. No more free swinging or sliding guillotine makes one less worry for me when customers/guests are on board. Nothing makes you cringe more than the slamming of the salon door due to someone losing their grip and/or footing when you’re out on the water. There aren’t many products in the marine industry you can call ‘bulletproof’, but I would certainly say the Marine Power Door is exactly that.

We recently contracted Marine Power Door to retrofit an automatic power door system in the pocket door that separates the galley and main salon area of the yacht. Jay and Brad drove down and completed the job in a single day. They had to remove delicate moldings and fine wall furnishings to install the motor, control board and belt system. The area that they had to work in was incredibly small when considering the equipment that needed to be installed. Once completed, the installation looked like it had been there since the boat was built. They continued to support us through custom programming and fine tuning with no hesitation. Their attention to detail is impeccable and their professionalism and customer service are unmatched. I would highly recommend them for any power door installations or improvements.
